With a mix of in-person and virtual events, Penn Sustainability, the Student Sustainability Association at Penn (SSAP), and a variety of other campus partners had a successful week of Earth Week programming. See below for some photo highlights of the week. All photos were taken by Kylie Cooper, the Undergraduate Photography Intern for Penn Sustainability.

During the week, Penn Sustainability hosted two yoga sessions on Shoemaker Green with Penn Recreation.

Participants were able to practice yoga in a COVID-safe environment while enjoying the beauty of Shoemaker Green.

On Earth Day, Penn Sustainability hosted a Campus Ecology Tour with Bob Lundgren, University Landscape Architect.

The tour took participants through College Green, Smith Walk, Shoemaker Green, and Penn Park.

Also on Earth Day, Penn Traditions held a Succulent Grab and Go for students to take home a plant of their own.

On Friday of Earth Week, Penn Environmental Group, a constituent group of SSAP, held a workday at the Penn Park Farm.

Participants in the Penn Park Farm workday helped with the planting of spring crops.

On the Saturday morning after Earth Day, students and staff participated in a cleanup of West Philadelphia.

The cleanup event started at 40th and Locust Walk and moved west to areas that contain off-campus housing.

Participants sorted the litter collected into separate trash and recycling streams to divert materials from the landfill.
