Move-In Green 2019

Move-In Green volunteers

Move-In Green was a great success this year, with 25 student volunteers coming together to provide educational outreach and hands-on recycling assistance to new and returning students moving into their college houses. This year’s group of volunteers ranged from Penn Nursing graduate students to undergraduates from the School of Arts and Sciences, all of whom spent time during Move-In staffing outreach tables at the Quad and Hill College House, talking with students about sustainability on campus and educating students about recycling at Penn. In addition, they handed out over 700 recycling bins and 700 reusable water bottles to incoming students and helped separate cardboard from the regular recycling stream. President Gutmann even stopped by the Move-In Green tent to lend a hand! Learn more about Move-In Green on the Penn Sustainability website, and see photos on the FRES flickr account.
