Project Details
Christian to Crescent is located along the east side of the Schuylkill River from the southern end of the South to Christian section near Christian Street to the northern end of the Grays Ferry Crescent section at 34th Street. This section extends Schuylkill Banks an additional 2,812 feet and fills a critical gap in the five-county Schuylkill River Trail. It features a 650-foot cable-stay bridge that boasts magnificent views of the city and Schuylkill River, trail lighting for nighttime use and safety, benches, trash cans, newly planted trees and flowering perennials, a tunnel connection to Grays Ferry Crescent, and an accessible connection to the 34th Street Bridge. This trail section is part of the greater Philadelphia region’s Circuit Trails network and national East Coast Greenway.
