In the recent 2022 issue of Lab Reporter, published by Fisher Scientific, Penn’s sustainability efforts and progress toward campus carbon neutrality were feature story material. The article by Mike Howie reviewed Penn’s decade of progress – calling out the Green Labs program and Procurement processes in particular – to illustrate the University’s all-encompassing approach.

Colleen Reardon, Penn’s senior director of strategic sourcing and sustainability, was interviewed for the article. “It’s top to bottom, not about the individual pipette tip,” she said. “Every single choice that everybody makes throughout the day in terms of a product they use can have a sustainability impact.”
